Happens,
What would
you say, if you had only yourself to talk with? You wouldn’t be speaking with
yourself, as there is only you, that is, there’s only your experience, but not
anyone, who experiences. Don’t call it meditation. It is just another experience.
If you are
asleep, you don’t experience that you are asleep, yet you sleep. You don’t
experience that you are lying in your bed and if you are awake, while you are lying
in your bed, there is only lying in your bed, but there’s no you, who is lying
in his or her bed.
Perhaps, you
didn’t know, that both lying and laying involve someone or something in a
horizontal position. Laying and lying are present participles of the verbs lay
and lie. Interestingly, lay is a transitive verb that refers to putting
something in a horizontal position, whereas lie in an intransitive verb that
refers to being in a flat position. I was wondering, should I say, I am laying in
bed or am I lying in bed? Since laying means, you set something down, it is
incorrect to say you are laying in your bed, because if you are in your bed
already, you are not laying. Coincidentally, lying also means deceiving. The
point of this writing, today is to explore the deception of how we use our
language. So, as soon as you go into the spelling or the grammar of language, you
enter a jungle of rules, which all obfuscate the fact, that there is, of
course, no inner self, who uses language.
To speak or
to write without the assumed entity, who does the speaking or the writing, is incredibly
different from the speaking and the writing
we are used to and familiar with. However, when we engage in Embodied Language
(EL), we realize, it was actually always our own experience, which wanted and
needed our verbal attention, but with Disembodied Language (DL) – which
continues to be our usual way of dealing with language – we are never able to
properly speak about or to give the right amount of attention to our experience,
as our energy or intelligence is drained by the imaginary being, who is believed
to have the experience.
In EL, we
can finally express the experience without the experiencer. The experiencer
doesn’t exist and the reading of this writing should make that clear to you. The
reading of this writing isn’t done by you, but it just happens by itself, since
you already know the English language. You don’t do your knowledge of the English
language, you behave and, therefore, you are the English Language. You can effortlessly
understand – without anyone who understands – as there is no an inner behavior-controlling
self. With our DL, we have never been able to speak clearly about this, but during
ongoing EL, it is obvious that our belief in the fabricated one, who supposedly
believes, is giving us nothing but huge problems.
Let’s
consider the work that one does or the job one has. Basically, whatever it is,
just needs to be done and, yes, it needs to be done correctly and, perhaps,
quickly or repeatedly or in the way others require us to do it. Whether you are
a brain-surgeon, a writer, a teacher, a prostitute or a carpenter, you just
need to do it, but doing it efficiently, totally, promptly, but also, confidently,
consciously, knowledgably, doesn’t involve any doer, who does what one does. To
the contrary, any kind of notion about the worker, who, presumably does the work,
interferes with the job that needs to be done. Similarly, with love, there is
no lover and if there is, love is a battle-field.
People are
endlessly involved in conflicts with each other and with themselves. How can
that be? The problem is not that people have problems, but that they are the
problem, that who they believe to be is the problem. They can’t be verbal about
it, so that the problem stops being a problem. In other words, we don’t know
how to communicate, because EL happens completely by itself, while DL is
effortful, forceful, unnatural, deceitful and pretentious. If we hold back, as
we usually do, we don’t talk, but we dominate, manipulate and exploit each other.
We keep our creepy sense of what we are really up to out of sight, because it
would reveal what we do.
Who we are
is nothing else than what we do and there is no doer to do what we do, even when
we lie. Also, of course, there is no doer, who didn’t do anything. For example,
you forgot to pick up that book at the library, on your way back from work. You
didn’t do it, but there’s no one who forgot, as that is merely a figure of
speech. How about falling asleep? You are not falling asleep and if you believe
in such nonsense, you have insomnia, like millions of people, who, as they say,
can’t stop worrying or thinking about stuff. Of course, once you have EL
instead of DL, you realize, your language flows, as there is no such a thing as
the thinker, who thinks.
Like your
breathing, heart-beat or digestion, your Language Enlightenment (LE) – which is
expressed by your EL, but covered up by your DL – happens by itself. Everything
you do happens because it can happen and based on your history of conditioning
nothing else could happen. Surely, your happiness isn’t caused by EL and your
negative experiences aren’t caused by your DL. Your newness happens by itself
and there’s no one, who does EL, but in DL, you live and believe in the
falsehood, that you are the doer of what you do. In ongoing EL, you find, your LE just happens. All your trouble deals
with how you deal with your language (pun intended).
