Misinformation,
I don’t care
about any of the definitions, which are given to us by those, who engage in
Disembodied Language (DL), but misinformation, as far as I am concerned, isn’t
part of the Embodied Language (EL) I stand for. You may be surprised to learn,
that there is more misinformation and dangerous fad out there, than there is
simple and factual information about what it is actually like, to use our
language for our own individual benefit. I don’t mean to say, our EL-happiness happens at the expense of others,
as it happens, in spite of the DL-unhappiness
of others.
Unless we
talk out loud with ourselves, to explore and enjoy our EL – instead of
remaining involved in the energy-draining DL with others – we will not be able
to have any EL with others. And, there is a lot of misinformation out there, about
what it actually takes and what it is really like, to do our own thing or to even
simply stay with ourselves. In DL, people argue endlessly about having so-called
moral clarity, so that, presumably, we can be on the right side of history,
with our support for this or that group, for the Israelis or for the Palestinians,
for the Jews or for the Muslims, for Right-wing or Left-wing politics.
Although it
is wonderful, that the U.S. Constitution heralds individual rights and
freedoms, living free and pursuing happiness with DL, will continue to remain
impossible. It is, therefore, written – and not spoken – misinformation, everyone
is stuck with, because once we say and have conversation, about the great difference
between DL and EL, it is crystal clear, that our unconscious, daily involvement
in DL, contradicts our ideals of individualism and liberty.
Only when we
have ongoing EL – and, consequently, determine our lives from the perspective, afforded
to us by our Language Enlightenment (LE) – are we able to live up to the idea, each person,
indeed, is an end in him or herself, as he or she is innately capable of acting
in favor of his or her wellbeing (which, everyone hopefully knows, is the animating
principle of the U.S. Constitution). However, since everything we have, up till
now, defined, was the inevitable result of our mechanical engagement in DL, we
need to morally re-define – with our ongoing EL – what it is like to be and to
live like an individual.
For
instance, with EL – we would all agree, that we do not think, which is merely,
what we imagine and say we do, because in DL, we can’t speak freely – but we would
really talk out loud with ourselves and with each other, about what it is actually
like, to act on our own conscience and interests and to live like an individual.
Moreover, we would treat language in the same way, as we would consider government
as our servant, who protects our individual rights to life, liberty and
property. This is a re-interpretation and re-conceptualization of the Freedom
of Speech. It is only our spoken, ongoing EL, which is going to be able to recognize
and secure – again and again, because our violent conditioning history with DL
isn’t ended by the stroke of a pen – the blessings of liberty, not a written Declaration
of Independence, which stated, it was instituted to establish justice.
In DL, people
maintain the claim, that lawyers and judges have an obligation to speak the
truth, but in EL, there is no compulsion, yet there is total faith in one’s own
embodied sound, which represents one’s wellbeing and forms the basis for how
one talks. In EL, we catch ourselves each time we revert back to DL, because we
sound very different, when we are pressured, anxious, frustrated, distracted, confused
or sad. To counter the far-reaching and devastating effects of misinformation, as
well as other bias, it is essential, we learn to discern between DL and EL.
Only with ongoing
EL – not, by merely having a few haphazard
moments of it – will each individual be free and capable of living their lives
independently, in the way they choose, because violating the rights of others,
is simply out of question. Here we see a new role for the justice system, which
is to educate about the benefits of EL and the injustice of DL. At this moment –
due to our DL, which, until now, has never been properly addressed – there is great
confusion about even the most basic premises of the American legal system. The fundamental
issue at stake is not, as everyone is inclined to believe, a political one – of
whether government will be held to account as our servant or our master or
whether it exists, as the Declaration promises, to secure our liberty or
whether each of us only exists to serve the goals of the state – but a linguistic
one. Everything always depended and continues
to depend on how we use language or how we are used by language.
There is the
court, there is the so-called court of public opinion and then, there is our own
individual experience, which is not an opinion, but a reality for which we only
find words, if we engage in EL instead of DL. According to Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), people who suffer mental health problems, have cognitive
distortions, that is, they are troubled by misinformation, which they unconsciously
recite with their language. However, EL is not about taking out only some of
the self-defeating, false concepts, as it is about stopping with our DL,
because our DL and EL are mutually exclusive. With EL, our language is in full support
of our individual experience and we no longer depend on our government for
justice.
There are many
misconceptions surrounding the importance of our use of language. Misinformation
is spread far and wide, due to our absurd refusal, to have EL with each other
instead of DL. We rather fight wars and die – which may be a psychological war,
in which we slowly die a spiritual death – than face the reality of how we use our
language. We say that we have a mind, but what this basically implies, is, we
are consumed and enslaved by our language. We childishly, obediently and unconsciously
believe in lies and misinformation, perpetuated, generation upon generation, by
our own DL, which isn’t some nefarious, imaginary, group-think, but a form of verbal,
social contagion, we superstitiously repeat. The misinformation is in our own DL
habit, which we first have to acknowledge, before we can stop it.
